The main objective of this study is to determine the teachers' attitude in teaching Mother Tongue and in relation to the academic performance of primary pupils, which served as the basis for a lesson exemplar. There are 16 teacher-respondents and 713 subject-pupils who participated on this study. An attitude scale inventory consisting of 30 items was used to measure the teachers' attitude in teaching mother tongue. The general average or the final rating in the subject was used to measure the academic performance of the primary pupils. As to teachers' attitude in teaching mother tongue, they have high positive attitude towards work by proving innovative teaching strategies in attaining the objectives of their daily lessons based on the mean of 4.11. Pupils have satisfactory academic performance in mother tongue falls based on a mean of 83.86.
