Summary: This study determined the relationship between reading level and reading attitude of elementary Grade 4 pupils as correlates to their academic achievement in Filipino. This study utilized the descriptive correlational research method. The statistical tool used were the percentage, ranking, MPS and the chi-square test. The following are the important findings based from the discussion made in chapter 4 of this study. Out of 200 Grade 4 pupils, 100 were independent readers; 71 belong to instructional level, and 29 are in the frustration level. In recreational reading the reading attitude of Grade 4 pupils were neither positive nor negative with overall weighted mean of 2.74, while in academic reading the reading attitude of Grade 4 pupils were neither positive nor negative with average weighted mean of 2.54 in terms of pupil's attitude in reading.
